Dear Mr. OH,

It's good to hear that birders from overseas want to come to Taiwan for birding. Especially who are introduced from my friend Victor.

After reading your explanation, I think arrange the birding to spend most of time in mountain will be the best choice. The itinerary will be follow:

Jan 3, pick you up in the airport at 13:30 then drive 2 and half hours south to Dong-Shi. We can see some low land birds around here before dark. Taiwan Hwamei is the most important one.

Jan 4, we drive up to Dasyueshan in the early morning. Dasyueshan recreation area is the best birding site in Taiwan, we can see the most endemic here. we drive from low land and high up to 2600 meters high. 

Jan 5, we spend whole day in the Dasyueshan, the Dasyueshan forest road is 48 kilometers long, many birding and photograph spot along the road. It's good to spend time here.

Jan 6, For the most chance to see the Mikado Pheasant, we will wait them comes out in the morning. after that we drive 3 hours to Alishan. Alishan has best chance to see the Swinhoe's Pheasant, Taiwan Partridge, Black-necklaced Scimitar-Babbler, those are all endemic 

Jan 7 we drive to Tataka to see those mountain birds we miss in Dasyueshan and drive back to Taipei in the afternoon.
